Mass Effect 3 improves upon the combat system in Mass Effect 2. Mechanics are generally the same, but they are refined. When you start a new Mass Effect 3 game, you have the choice to start a new, import a Mass Effect 2 character or, if you finished the game once already, you can re-import your Mass Effect 3 characters as well.
